I can’t help it if I’m happy. I can’t help it if I’m happy not to be sad.

Bleeding typical. A guy produces an album with three genuine pop hits in waiting and it is the bonus track cover song that actually gets him the recognition in the mainstream.

Armin’s We Love Sounds Set Cut by 30 Minutes

The official set times for We Love Sounds are out – and Armin addicts are not happy. Armin van Buuren’s heavily advertised 5 hour set has been reduced by 30 minutes! I bought my We Love ticket solely for Armin, so i’m disappointed by this change. The Hordern Pavillion has a strict 10pm sound cut-off time – so there will be no encores.

Drummers, this will put a smile on your dial…

Hi there,

This is my first post on this site, and I thought I’d take the opportunity to say hello and share a little YouTube video that has become one of my all-time favourites!  I’m sure most of you have already seen it doing the rounds on the Internet over the past year or so…but for those who haven’t – get amongst it!

u2-no-line-on-the-horizonLove them or hate them, U2 are the only band to have lasted so long and with the same lineup while still managing to release big selling albums and hit singles.

Oasis: Taking It To The Streets

oasisPart canny marketing idea and part musical goodwill (surprising considering Liam Gallagher is involved), last September Oasis decided to preview four songs from their then upcoming album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.

twitterRAGE community music video channel

You may have noticed this new thing called twitterRAGE being mentioned on Twitter recently. What is it? The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) have a music video show called rage – and basically a bunch of “tweeps” (Twitter users) including @misswired @barrysaunders @ApostrophePong myself and others have a shared account on YouTube twitterrage where we collect and make available through a playlist our favourite music videos and tracks for people to listen to … basically a community-programmed web version of the ABC’s rage show.

Worst recent music video?

I’m voting The Bird and the Bee “Polite Dance Song” as worst music video that’s in high rotation at the moment. I’m not sure if my extreme dislike for the video is because of it’s insipidity or slight freakishness – but it just distresses me.

Inside The Fire: Full Uncensored Version

Warner Bros. have released two versions of the video clip for Inside the Fire (off their latest album Indestructible) — on my original post I had included the full uncensored versions, however it seems Warner Bros pulled that version from YouTube as the ‘official’ or default clip.  However here is the full version from an unofficial channel.

Shoot The Player

“… I usually don’t do things like these but since you want to make something beautiful, I’m in… ”

And so begins the journey of the latest Shoot The Player film with Swedish musician, the Tallest Man on Earth.

Shoot The Player is a website dedicated to making single shot music videos of singer-songwriters on the streets of our town, Sydney.  I’ve been following the site for a while now, ever since a friend of mine was in a video himself, and I’m never disappointed by the injection of inspiration I get from each new upload.

Finally marching to a different tune

The history of music is littered with brave choices: Dylan plugging in at the Newport Folk Festival; Al Green turning his back on secular music; the person responsible for signing Mariah Carey to EMI.

Wiley – Summertime

Love it or hate it? I think Daft Punk deserves more respect than Wiley has given them with his extensive sampling of Aerodynamic … well it’s not even sampling, it’s more just singing over the top of the track and then trying to make it better! No, you don’t try and improve on Daft Punk. I’ll listen to it rather than change the radio station but I’m not impressed.
