The official set times for We Love Sounds are out – and Armin addicts are not happy. Armin van Buuren’s heavily advertised 5 hour set has been reduced by 30 minutes! I bought my We Love ticket solely for Armin, so i’m disappointed by this change. The Hordern Pavillion has a strict 10pm sound cut-off time – so there will be no encores.
Hi there,
This is my first post on this site, and I thought I’d take the opportunity to say hello and share a little YouTube video that has become one of my all-time favourites! I’m sure most of you have already seen it doing the rounds on the Internet over the past year or so…but for those who haven’t – get amongst it!
An amazing video from an equally amazing band: The Butterfly Effect. Both conceptually and visually this is a beautiful piece. Continue reading →
Part canny marketing idea and part musical goodwill (surprising considering Liam Gallagher is involved), last September Oasis decided to preview four songs from their then upcoming album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.
You may have noticed this new thing called twitterRAGE being mentioned on Twitter recently. What is it? The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) have a music video show called rage – and basically a bunch of “tweeps” (Twitter users) including @misswired @barrysaunders @ApostrophePong myself and others have a shared account on YouTube twitterrage where we collect and make available through a playlist our favourite music videos and tracks for people to listen to … basically a community-programmed web version of the ABC’s rage show.
I’m voting The Bird and the Bee “Polite Dance Song” as worst music video that’s in high rotation at the moment. I’m not sure if my extreme dislike for the video is because of it’s insipidity or slight freakishness – but it just distresses me.
“… I usually don’t do things like these but since you want to make something beautiful, I’m in… ”
And so begins the journey of the latest Shoot The Player film with Swedish musician, the Tallest Man on Earth.
Shoot The Player is a website dedicated to making single shot music videos of singer-songwriters on the streets of our town, Sydney. I’ve been following the site for a while now, ever since a friend of mine was in a video himself, and I’m never disappointed by the injection of inspiration I get from each new upload.
Love it or hate it? I think Daft Punk deserves more respect than Wiley has given them with his extensive sampling of Aerodynamic … well it’s not even sampling, it’s more just singing over the top of the track and then trying to make it better! No, you don’t try and improve on Daft Punk. I’ll listen to it rather than change the radio station but I’m not impressed.
In between Skate 2000 and head-butting my brother, I spent most of my early years watching Video Hits and Rage. For better or for worse? You be the judge…
