These guys may never be big. I’ll be the first to admit that. With the recent crush of electro-indie bands its going to be hard for them to rise above the rest. But, this is one of the sickest most awesome fully psychedelic music videos I have seen since, well I don’t know, since those videos of Jimi Hendrix playing amongst all those stoners at Woodstock (that shit is sick by the way, have you seen the one when he plays Hey Joe and there’s this angry dude staring at some other stoner dude like he wants him to meet his haymaker…freaky)
Shit, the chick thinks its hot when someone has a gun in their bag. That is like, so white gangster. And the video has a huge jumping orca. That is the recipe to any kind of musical success if you’re asking me. If you can place a giant jumping orca into a music clip and get away with it, you’ve convinced me.
On a serious note, I know very little about this band. Seattle based they’ve been touring the States with Matt & Kim and The Go! Team. They released an album in July called Glistening Pleasure to pretty damn positive reviews. Energetic, danceable and catchy seems to be the general vibe. Truthfully, I don’t care. They gave me 1:32 of pure visual pleasure with the neatest video I have seen for some time. The fact that they have produced a kicker album is a side-thought to their true masterpiece, the above clip, so damn right check it OUT! What’s more I know what I’m wearing to Meredith this year….two words:
Indian Headdress.
